A Little Fun at Bonino's Expense (bonino)

PITTSBURGH - One of the fun things about the Stanley Cup Final is that sometimes, weird stories arise from a win or loss that bring you a chuckle or two.

This week we've got one and it more or less took over the sports end of the internet after Game 1.

The Pens' Nick Bonino probably never figured he's be such a celeb in another language - Punjabi - but that's exactly when happened when he scored the eventual game-winning goal for the Penguins.

If you never heard of Harnarayan Singh, it's only because you don't speak Punjabi. He is HNIC Punjabi what Doc Emrick is to NBC Sports.

Bonino heard, got a laugh out of it but now it's become somewhat of running joke on him in the dressing room with other Penguin players. Even coach Mike Sullivan admitted the Pens used a clip of it for their game film breakdown.

“Any chance we can get, the other 20 guys in this locker room, we love to pick on Bonino,… said Pens defenseman Ben Lovejoy.

Bonino said he's trying to keep a straight face right now amid all the teasing and all the questions he is getting from the media on this.

“At the end of the day, you try to put that aside, but it’s tough with all the guys yelling at me all the time. Just have fun with it and see if it continues.…

BTW: Bonino told his family to use the clip as a ringtone identifier their cell phones so they know when he is calling them.
