The last time the Wild saw the Blues they were skating off Xcel Energy Center Ice on their way to the second round of the playoffs. This season through the first quarter, is the top team in the Western Conference eight points ahead of the Wild. The Blues have the 6th best offense (3.3 G/G)and 5th best defense (2.61 GA/G).

Jake Allen was the difference last season in the Blues first round playoff defeat of the Wild, and he has carried that strong play over this season with his 12-5-1 record. Allen's GAA 2.74, and save percentage .909 are middle of the road totals though.

The Wild won an uncharacteristic shootout contest yesterday, after a very strong overtime effort. That was a good sign for the Wild as the coaching staff made some necessary adjustments with the lineup and the result was a six shot Wild attack in the extra frame.

St. Louis is coming off a 2-0 home loss to Nashville yesterday and will enter tonight's game with a bit of an edge and something to prove in front of their home crowd.

Brayden Schenn, the Blues big off season acquisition coming over in a draft day trade with Philadelphia, leads St. Louis with 30 points (10 goals). Wild killer Vladimir Tarasenko has 12 goals and Jaden Schwartz has 11 goals and 30 points as well.

Another big division game and test for the Wild today.
