Hello, hockey world! Today is the day of the most trades in the regular season, hselling teams push for the playoffs and the draft. Expecting plenty of moves around the 32 teams. I will update as much as possible throughout the day, let us begin with the trades of the last week, and view winners and losers.
11:15pm— Final Update
The trade deadline had 33 trades with 54 players moved. That’s not even counting the draft picks that were moved. It was a wildly successful deadline, and shifted the competitive landscape of the league to truly focus on the upper half’s success, while the bottom did retool and prepare for the draft and future ahead.
Power Ranking the 5 Best Teams After the Dealdine: 1. Florida— they won the week between Ben Chariot and Claude Giroux coming up, they are gearing up for the second round.
2. Tampa Bay— Brandon Hagel and Nic Paul. What a duo of grit to redefine their bottom six for a three peat.
3. Minnesota— MAF… plus Middleton… they won the day of the deadline.
4. New York Rangers— Andrew Copp, Tyler Motte, Nick Merkley, Frank Vatrano, and Justin Braun. They brought in a lot of pieces for a now run with their kids on entry level deals.
5. Colorado— Artturi Lehkonnen, Andrew Cogalino, and Josh Manson. They’re gearing up to be the team to beat in the Western Confefence.
Just shy of number 5 were Toronto and Calgary… Calgary planned too early to be ranked, while I think it will be them and Denver in the Conference finals… and Toronto’s goaltending worries me but they may now have the best 6 defensive group in the league…

The Anaheim Ducks acquired F Evgeni Dadanov and a 2024 2nd round draft selection from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for F Ryan Kesler’s contract and D John Moore.
The Seattle Kraken acquired F Victor Rask (50% salary retained) from the Minnesota Wild for future considerations.
Florida retained 25% of Domi’s contract in the deal. Florida obtained F Yegor Koreshkov and a 2022 6th round draft pick from the Toronto Maple Leafs via the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Carolina obtained F Max Domi (50% retained from Columbus) and D Tyler Inamoto
Columbus acquired D Aidan Hreschuk.
The San Jose Sharks acquired F Antoine Morand from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for G Alexi Melnichuk.
The Los Angeles Kings acquired D Nelson Nogier from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for F Markus Phillips.
The Los Angeles Kings obtained D Frederic Allard from the Nashville Predators in exchange for F Brayden Burke.
