Massive card tonight with 14 games. Then we are back to 2 games on Wednesday and 12 more Thursday, followed by 1 on Friday. Such a very bizarre schedule!
Three new angles that I have been tracking that might be something to look at both short and long term are as follows.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 11-3! Calgary and Winnipeg fit the system tonight.
Scenario #2 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 4-3 when teams play on the road back to back nights. No team fits the system tonight.
Scenario #3 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 17-10 in that situation. Same teams are scenario #1 here.
Quick stat updates - First period totals going over are 33-52 on the season. Road teams are 34-51 on the season. Home side the way to go even with the higher juice on the ML! Game totals going over the total 50-33-2, which is still a very profitable angle.
Gamenotes for today/tonight – Panthers/Jackets – First game in a week for Florida, lets see how they respond from the long break. Sharks/Wild – SJ continues a long roadie, playing their 7th straight on the road. In each 2 game series to start the season, they have split each series. Lets see if this series holds true and they get a split again.
