Well, last night couldn't have gone any worse but like I have mentioned in the past, Monday nights can be weird with NHL capping. Let's get back on the winning track tonight. First period totals went over at a 5-0 clip while they were 4-1 for the entire game last night. We have a 9 game card tonight, analysis below.
TOR/BOS - The Bruins have won 7 of their last 8 games/14 of their last 17 games and are red hot! Toronto beat Boston back in November on home ice 5-2. Lean to BOS -130 here.
CAR/TB - The Lightning were rested last night while CAR played in WSH. TB off a crazy stretch on the road, 6 road games, 1 home game then just back from another 4 game roadie. TB has gone under the total in 9 straight games. CAR won the first 2 meetings head to head and these 2 team have gone under the total in 8 of their last 10 games head to head.
MTL/FL - The Panthers are 7-3 in their last 10 games and all 3 losses came on the road. Habs have a tough 3 game stretch coming up at FL/TB/CAR. First home game for FL in quite some time after 7 games on the road. Too steep a price -400 for Florida, pass for me.
NYR/PITT - Each team has defeated the other on home ice, now the Pens get revenge tonight after the 5-1 beatdown from 4 nights ago. Lean to Pitt -161.
NYI/CLB - The Jackets have lost 4 of their last 5 games and have fallen apart of late after having a nice after winning 9 of 11 during a stretch in February. NYI is a tough team to figure, they win 5 of 6 games and now they have lost 3 of 4 games. There are better games on the card, pass for me. This is a home and home between these 2 games. NYI then hits the road for 8 of 9 games.
OTT/NSH - The Preds are 8-4 in their last 12 games and only have a few games over the next 9 days. They need these points badly for the playoff chase while Ottawa is miserable on the road. The Preds have gone over the total in 6 straight games and 8 of their last 10 games. Huge lean to NSH -220.
PHI/MIN - Be careful of the emotional letdown by Minny after the OT win over COL the other night. This is the ultimate sandwich as the Wild have Pitt on deck at home on Thursday night. Minny is 6-1 on this current homestand and have gone under the total in 5 straight games. The Wild won at Philly 3 weeks ago 5-4 and I look for the Flyers to catch the Wild in a tough spot tonight. Lean to PHI +226.
COL/CAL - Huge match-up with these two teams and I always take the -115 fav or the other team -105 in these types of situations. That's what we have tonight with CAL -115. Head to head this season, they've split the first 2 games.
DAL/ANA - The Ducks have lost 9 in a row and the Stars have won 4 of their last 6 games, 2 teams going in different directions. DAL needs these 2 points to stay in the playoff chase for a wildcard spot. Huge lean to DAL -158.
