So here is one for you...
No team that has has a ten game winning streak in an NHL season has EVER missed the playoffs. That really shouldn't be all that surprising I guess. You would expect any team who can put together such a streak would easily find themselves good enough to make the dance, right?
And yet this year two teams could very well make history...Philly, despite a big win against Pittsburgh last night, is still considered likely to miss the playoffs, and Calgary, who still has a great shot at making the playoffs, is facing a really tough schedule ahead and will have to stay hot to fight off Edmonton, Nashville, St. Louis and LA in what is shaping into a 5 team race for 4 spots.
This year in the NHL is the year of the streak for sure. We have seen more teams run up enormous streaks this season than any I can remember. And yet many of them aren't running away with anything at this point.

Another night the Buzztron 9000 took it on the chin, as the Buzztron is looking like "The Montreal Canadiens of Projection Models." right now. After getting off to a torrid start (17-1) we have bounced around .500 the rest of the way...Below are the latest Projections for who "SHOULD" make the playoffs if all games were to go as planned... We saw last night how this time of year...anything can, and often does, happen.
