‘Tis the Season for the World Juniors....who do you like? (NHL Rumors)

Happy Holidays Hockey World! I truly hope you are all enjoying your time as much as I truly am. It is so wonderful to get to catch up with so many fans and friends again...

I will be getting back to my Top 31 Teams list during this trade freeze... but first today starts one of the greatest of all hockey/holiday traditions...The World Junior Championships 2018! This year being held out in beautiful British Columbia. It really doesn't get much better than this tournament in that setting.

This tournament has always had such a fantastic connection to Canadians over the years and I would love to hear some of your traditions connected to it. Most in America are relatively new to this great tradition because in the pre-internet world and before the NHL Network covered this tournament it was almost completely in obscurity down here. However, over the last few more and more Americans are learning about the little secret that is the WJC and realizing what a great opportunity it is to see the future of our sport on display so vividly!

This year, America's Jack Hughes will be at the forefront, along with his brother, and future Canuck, Quinn. And Canada is just stacked with future stars...

The games get going today at 4pm on TSN in Canada and the NHL Network in the USA. TSN is also offering a cool new streaming service for the games...but that may only be available to Canadians due to ridiculous broadcasting rules which our children will one day mock us for...

In today's comment thread lets get with some of your picks for the tournament, as well as some of your memories...My favorite memory was watching the tournament final in Boston on New Years Eve with members of NHL media in a bar. We were all there to cover the Winter Classic and the final was between USA and Canada. It was a blast to see reporters, who are trained to never cheer in the press box, show that in the end we are all just fans of this great sport.

Enjoy the day and I look forward to your comments!
