One down, but don’t expect the rest of the restricted free agents on the Detroit Red Wings’ roster to fall like dominoes now that defenseman Xavier Ouellet is in the fold. Ouellet agreed to terms on a two-year, $1.25 million pact, but left-winger Tomas Tatar and center Andreas Athanasiou are nowhere near close to new pacts according to sources within the Red Wings organization. Tatar, who scored a career-high 25 goals last season, is expected to file for arbitration on Thursday, but the Wings are OK with that because it helps establish a playing field and speeds up the negotiating process. Athanasiou, who also established a career-high with 18 goals last season, isn’t eligible for arbitration, so it’s quite possible that his negotiations could drag out well into the summer and close to when training camp is slated to open.
