Kevin Shattenkirk met the New York media today in person for the first time as a New York Ranger. He was on the ice with campers at the Rangers Youth Hockey Camp first and then met the media. Shattenkirk provided one additional reasons as to why he signed with the New York, hitting on some of key themes you expected, including his favorite player (Brian Leetch), playing with Ryan McDonagh (reason #2) and desire to win the Cup in NYC (reason #1), as well as a few non-expected, e,g. one of his favorite players was Doug Lidster, partially because 'Kirk played with Lidster's son growing up.
Shattenkirk was surprised to see the #22 jersey with his name on it. Just because that happened, it doesn't mean Nick Holden will be traded. But that the Rangers are doing everything to make their big name signing even more comfortable.

Shattdeuces is wearing #22 and he is a Ranger for at least the next four years. Let that sink in. Also, as noted, will do my best to get a blog up later this week, as will be tied up in meetings most of the remainder of the week.
