The Buffalo Sabres were a perfect 3-0 on their recent three game roadie to Winnipeg, Minnesota and Pittsburgh.

On Monday night, the upstart Sabres erased a 4-1 deficit and charged back to tie the game in regulation. Jack Eichel ended the game just 45 seconds into overtime.

The Buffalo Sabres don't know the meaning of the work "quit".

They never surrender. No matter how dire the circumstances.

Their three game road sweep gave the Sabres 6 out of 6 possible points in the standings. The Sabres are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, which is the best 10-game stretch since the Sabres boasted a 7-1-2 record from March 10 to 30, 2012.

The Sabres find themselves in third place in the Eastern standings.

Jack Eichel said Tuesday that there is a special bond holding he and his teammates together in the early stages of the 2018-19 season.

“It’s a trust and a belief in each other,… Eichel said. “You look at the room, I think the guys are believing the next guy’s going to get the job done and set you up for your shifts. We’re a pretty tight bunch right now for how many new guys have come into this team.

“I think we’re getting really close right now and we’re doing it for each other, and I think that’s the biggest thing. Everyone out there doesn’t want to let the guy next to them down.…

Phil Housley's team has won six straight games. Five of the six wins were of the comeback variety.

"The Cardiac Kids" enter Wednesday night's game with the Flyers on their first six-game winning streak in a single season since December 27, 2009 to January 8, 2010. It is the longest win streak in the NHL this season.

A win over the Fly Boys would give the Sabres their first seven-game winning streak since winning its first 10 games of the 2006-07 season.

The 2018-19 Sabres sure love their home cooking. The Sabres are 6-2-1 (.722) at home putting the team on pace for its best home record since the 1982-83 season (25-7-8, .725). With 13 points in eight home games, the Sabres have already clinched its best 10-game start to the home schedule since they began the 2009-10 season with a 7-2-1 record in their first 10 home games.

The Sabres have gone 4-0-1 their last five home games. A point against Philadelphia would give the Sabres points in six consecutive home games for the first time since they earned points in seven straight from January 7 to Februry 7, 2017 (6-0-1).
