As this extended offseason for the Los Angeles Kings continues, I’ll be reviewing each player on the team and how they performed this season. This article will focus on Martin Frk.
Frk played just 17 games for the Kings but was a solid addition to the roster before the season was paused. He scored an impressive six goals (and eight points total) in that stretch and looked as though he was on his way to earning permanent spot in the lineup.
Frk had a strong corsi for percentage of 53.6 per cent and was pretty average in terms of offensive zone starts percentage, when comparing him to other King’s players. Next season, a key for Frk will be getting more shots on net. He’s got a wicked hard shot but he only managed to get 44.8 per cent of his shots on net, which was lower than every forward on the Kings to play at least 15 games this season.
Though it was a limited sample size, Frk performed well for the Kings this season. Given a chance to succeed, I think he could become a solid addition to the forward group for the coming years.
