1) Flyers left winger Joel Farabee underwent cervical disc replacement surgery on June 24. At the time, it was stated that the player would miss three to four months from the time of the surgery but was expected to make a full recovery. Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel underwent the same surgery and was back on the ice approximately three months later.

Based upon the conservative end of the original projected timetable, Farabee would miss training camp and return at some point in late October to early November depending on how he felt by that point. The on-ice portion of camp starts on Sept. 22, with players officially reporting one day earlier.

Now, however, it seems increasingly possible that Farabee's return could meet the optimistic end of the timetable; a return in training camp and a potential on-time start for the regular season. Farabee has been skating daily among the players working out at the Flyers Training Center in Voorhees.

2) On Tuesday's edition of Flyers Daily, Jason Myrtetus fielded a listener question: What do the Flyers mean to you? Furthermore, what, as a fan, would be your top priorities for the organization if it were your decision to make? Very pertinent questions. To listen to the podcast, click here.

3) The Flyers have announced a new ticket program called "Flyers Pass". For $99 per month, fans will received a ticket for four games per month (October - April). Game dates for each month will be released two weeks before the following month. Specific seat locations cannot be guaranteed.

For October, the Flyers Pass games are against the New Jersey Devils (Oct. 13), Vancouver Canucks (Oct. 15), San Jose Sharks (Oct. 23), and Florida Panthers (Oct. 27). In October, the opponents are the St. Louis Blues (Nov. 8), Claude Giroux and the Ottawa Senators (Nov. 12), Dallas Stars (Nov. 13) and Calgary Flames (Nov. 21).

4) Today in Flyers History: August 31

* 1978: After an 11-season Flyers career that dated back to the inaugural 1967-68 campaign, Joe Watson's contract was sold to the Colorado Rockies. As a Flyer, Watson played in two NHL All-Star Games and was an alternate captain on the team's Stanley Cup winning clubs in 1973-74 and 1974-75. A member of the Flyers Hall of Fame, the elder Watson brother is second to Chris Therien in franchise history for games played by a defenseman.

* 1987: The Flyers traded backup goaltender Darren Jensen and rugged defenseman Daryl Stanley to the Vancouver Canucks for backup goalie Wendell Young and a 1990 third-round pick (Kimbi Daniels).

* 1995: Traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the blockbuster 1992 deal that sent Mark Recchi to the Flyers, Kjell Samuelsson returned to the Flyers as an unrestricted free agent on this day in 1995. He'd spend the next three seasons with the club.

* 2000: The Flyers signed young goaltender Brian Boucher to a two-year contract extension after his stellar 1999-2000 rookie NHL season.
