Perron offered in person hearing after a game misconduct last night (Redwings)

David Perron is going to miss a chunk of games. Being offered an in person hearing I’m guessing 5. I’d said last night and stand by this today, his actions were way over the line.

Unfortunately, Larkin could be facing another serious neck injury that goes unpunished save for the 2 minutes last night. If you don’t know, after Jamie Benn cross checked Larkin across the neck, he missed the remainder of a year and it was later revealed that Dylan was worried he may not make it back. A frustration for sure, but the team has to move forward, be as supportive as possible and let this go. If Perron had left the punitive portion to the referees the club would be in a little bit better position.

Without Compher, Larkin and Perron there will be at least one call up. Likely Berggren. If Compher is still out, it’s going to be an ugly position up the middle. If Larkin is going to be out for an extended period of time, I have to think Yzerman at least contemplates bringing in another center but at this point I’m not sure how realistic that is. Hoping for the best for the captain, Perron is facing a situation he put himself in. Yes, stand up for your team. But running and cross checking a player in the head when the play is blown dead and there’s medical staff being rushed onto the ice just makes things worse all around. We’ll see what the department says.
