Troubling news for the Buffalo Sabres.
According to Paul Hamilton of WGR 550, Buffalo sabres winger Kyle Okposo has been hospitalized and is in the Neuro Surgical Intensive Care Unit at a Buffalo hospital. The Buffalo News has confirmed the report. Okposo is undergoing further testing to determine the exact nature of his illness.
Okposo has been ill since March 28. The veteran forward visited doctors this week.
Okposo was knocked out of the lineup a few hours before His team's game at the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 28. Okposo had just returned to the Buffalo lineup and played two games after missing 10 because of a rib injury.
Sabres head coach said Wedensday morning that Okposo would miss the final three games of the season. Okposo's exact diagnosis was not known at Bylsma's morning newser.
“He’s sick and ill,… Bylsma said. "Very concerned.
Okposo is in the first year of a seven year, $42 million contract.
Okposo represented the Sabres at the 2017 NHL All Star Game.
Okposo will finish the season with 19 goals and 26 assists.
