Well that didn't take long.
The pick becomes a fifth round selection if Jerabek appears in 50 or more regular season games for the Blues in 2018-19.

Just 24 hours after the Oilers cut Jakob Jerabek from the Oilers and had him "waiting on assignment," the Oilers have now traded Jerabek to the Blues for a 2020 6th round pick which becomes a 5th rounder if he plays 50 or more games.
Jerabek seemed like a solid bet at 1 million dollars; a value player who could move the puck decently in a third pairing role. However with the exception of a couple good shifts Jerabek did not show nearly enough and was passed on the depth chart by the likes of PTO invite Garrison, as well as Bear and Bouchard.
The fact that the Oilers were able to get anything for this player, during this time of year when the waiver wire is packed full is commendable. The Oilers free up some cap and avoid playing a player in the AHL who clearly is not part of the future plans.

Yesterday the Oilers also sent down Pontus Aberg in a move that should surprise no one. Again Aberg did some things well but the likes of Rattie, Puljujarvi, Yamamoto and others just did better. Aberg still could turn into something and some time in the AHL could do him good.
UPDATE:
Shortly after posting this the Anaheim Ducks claimed Aberg off waivers. Not a big loss for Edmonton and frees up another roster spot. Best of luck to you Aberg!
The Oilers roster now sits at 25 with PTO invites Garrison and Chiasson still on the roster. Due to the Europe trip the Oilers are allowed to keep the extra PTO's on their roster in case an injury occurs while across the ocean. I'll have more updates from this trip as the week progresses.
