No Bueno..... and Trade Offers, play Devil's GM

Today's blog picture honors one of the greatest GMs and culture builders of all time....Uncle Lou Lamoriello

No Bueno... is all I can say about last night's game. Ill recap in the next blog. This is the kind of game I expected of the Devils all year long, so give them a break - for now.

The reason I wanted to put up a blog is for us all to discuss something I have been puzzled, what's up with Butcher. Could it be more than: He is in the dog house He does not fit the system He cant be paired with Smith He is still injured Or... could he be traded?

So todays post by Ek sparks a thought and Id like to put it up for discussion.

Ek "has been told" the Devils have inquired about DuBoise. I will note that Pierre LeBrun tweeted that several teams have inquired, and the Devils were not one of them.

So, Ek suggests a package of: Zacha, Butcher and a pick for PLD.

I will assume the pick is a 1st rounder for discussion's sake.

In my opinion... If I were NJ, yes, I would JUMP all over this...... however;

If you are Columbus, would you take this as a return? I would think Columbus wants help now and although Zacha and Butcher could "help" it is tough to explain trading your franchise center for a 3rd/4th liner and a D man who hasn't played a game yet.

If you are the Devils, this will create 3 Centers and one would have to move to the wing (Hughes has had wing experience but thats not his best use. Nico, I doubt is a winger and same for PLD. I also think Hughes and Nico are untouchable.

So while I am skeptical they are good trading partners, it is fun to play with the idea.

So.... what say you?

If you were Uncle Lou Lamoriello (or Fitz), what would you offer for PLD?

Let's hear it...

Truly yours, The Devils Advocate
