Mike Doc Emrick has announced he is retiring as a play by play guy after a brilliant career. I want to write a full out tribute to Doc, and I will, because as good as Doc was behind the mic, he was all that and more behind the scenes. A truly great person in every way. A guy who was there for anyone who needed a friend or a pick me up. I will write more and talk more about Doc, but I wanted to at least say a quick Thanks!
After 3,750+ Professional and Olympic hockey games, 100 different verbs used to describe a pass or shot, and 22 Stanley Cup Finals, the legendary Mike "Doc" Emrick has announced his retirement from broadcasting.
