The Gagarin cup conference finals ended with a victory of CSKA Moscow as they defeated rumored Putin's ''rigged'' SKA St.Petersburgh team with a final score 3:2 in OT (4-2 in series.

(For the context - a very well known ''Russian'' journalist claimed that KHL has been rigged so the SKA team would be granted a victory during the 2017/2018 season)

In first four minutes of the game, SKA seemed like they are out there to force game 7 and it went according to plan. Two goals on two shots forced CSKA to pull Ilya Sorokin. One of them was clearly his fault and might end up as the worst goal of the year.

SKA kept pushing and won the 1st period with a score of 2-0, but CSKA wasn't going to give up. With a little under five minutes left former NHL'r Nikita Nesterov went got his team back within a goal.

In the third CSKA managed to kill both of their penalties and with around three minutes left it was Mikhail Grigorenko's time to shine as he tied the game up, 2-2 forcing OT.

Moscow killed yet another penalty and managed to win it in OT. Mikhail Grigorenko once again was the hero sending his team to Gagarin cup finals 3-2.

In the finals, Red Army team will face AkBars Kazan that managed to make the finals with a 4-0 sweep against Traktor Chelyabinsk. First game of the series will be played on April 14th.
