No other way to say it other than calling it like it is. Tuesday was slop, and now it is time for the Wild to man up and own their lackadaisical play of late.
Three of the last four home games have seen the team play poorly in the third period with the most embarrassing being Tuesday night against the hapless Coyotes.
A lot has been said that Paul Fenton has done a great job by not making any significant moves. There is some truth to that and the team has played well for much of the first two months of the season.
The facts still remain the same though, until the Wild win in the playoffs it is all for naught.
So to say we have seen this all before is absolute fact. Fenton is playing his hand very well, and the fact is he was much better off sitting pat, but it is time for him to start exploring, and I really believe he is. There will be some movement with this club and the roster is going to be changed.
So tonight Devan Dubnyk gets a chance to get his game back in form after a couple of rough outings. Dubnyk had been the best goalie in the league for a good portion of the young season and a couple slip ups take nothing away from the Wild's top goalie.
Playing on the road is the best medicine and playing in a tough building against a very good Eastern Conference for in Columbus should provide the necessary elements for the boys to respond.
It's always Hockey Day in the State of Hockey!
