MN Wild Introduce "This is Our Ice" (Wild)

The State of Hockey will be well represented literally IN Xcel Energy Center ice.

In a new tradition, the Wild have invited fans to contribute water from their favorite hockey ponds, lakes, and rinks that will be filtered and frozen into the ice at the Xcel Energy Center.

Minnesota is the "State of Hockey" where the game is played in every corner on every lake, pond, and backyard rink from the second the ice forms on these outdoor cathedrals of hockey. Now those ponds, lakes, and rinks will be brought together and represented in the ice of the Xcel Energy Center.

On Saturday September 16th, fans are invited to "Flood the Rink" that will create the ice the Wild will skate on this season.

Fans can bring a maximum of 3 ounces of water from their local pond, lake, or rink and they will be placed in a Zamboni located outside Gate 1 from 6AM to 3PM. That water will be filtered and used the next day to help make the Xcel Energy Center ice.

Other events going on around the "Flood the Rink" event are:

The Wild Breakaway Run which begins at 8:30AM outside of the Xcel Energy Center

Wild open practice beginning at 9:45 AM

2017-18 Wild single game season tickets go on sale at 9 AM at Xcel Energy Center Box office, and 12PM at Ticketmaster outlets.

Fans can stop by the Wild booth at the State Fair, located in the FAN Central Building, to pick up one of a limited number of containers to collect their water to be contributed to the "Flood the Rink" event.
