We've signed @CarlGrundstrom & @liasandersson to contract extensions.
Andersson is 23 years old and was acquired from the New York Rangers in October of 2020. The forward has yet to solidify himself as a permanent fit with the Kings and this season, he suited up for just 20 games with Los Angeles, managing one goal and two points. His contract is for one year and is worth $750,000.
These are two solid deals for the Kings. Grundstrom is a solid depth forward who could still continue to develop and his deal brings fair value. You also can’t complain about Andersson’s contract, given the minimum salary.
In other news, the Kings also opted not to extend a qualifying offer to forward Brendan Lemieux. It was somewhat of an interesting move, given Lemieux was a solid member of their bottom-six group last season, scoring eight goals and 13 points in 50 games.
Players who did receive qualifying offers were Mikey Anderson, Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Sean Durzi and Gabriel Vilardi, while Vladimir Tkachev and Johan Sodergran did not receive qualifying offers.
