The Los Angeles Kings have re-signed defenseman Alex Edler and forward Brendan Lemieux.

Edler’s one-year deal was announced yesterday. The contract carries a $750,000 cap hit, along with up to $750,000 in bonuses.

Lemieux is 26 years old and had eight goals and 13 points in 50 games this past season. He originally didn’t receive a qualifying offer from the Kings but his new deal is for a single year at $1.35 million.

In smaller news, the Kings also signed goalie Pheonix Copley and defenseman Tobie Paquette-Bisson to one-year deals. Both players spent this past season in the AHL.

Meanwhile, Andreas Athanasiou, Olli Maatta and Troy Stecher won't be returning to the Kings, after signing deals elsewhere.

Despite a pretty quiet day for the Kings, the team got really good deals for both Edler and Lemieux. Edler will provide much more value than his cap hit would suggest and Lemieux should once again be a solid member of the fourth line.
