The New York Islanders announced today that they’ve signed prospect Samuel Bolduc to an entry-level contract.

Bolduc, a 6-foot-4, 211-pound left-handed defenseman, was selected by the Islanders in the second round of last year’s draft. He spent the majority of his QMJHL career with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, before being dealt to the Sherbrooke Phoenix this season, who were loading up for a run at the Memorial Cup.

Next season will be a good indicator as to where Bolduc’s ceiling is, but as of now, he's a promising prospect for the Islanders.

Here’s today’s poll question (results and discussion will be posted this weekend):

Were you happy about the Islanders selecting Samuel Bolduc with their second-round pick last year?
