Defenseman Gustav Forsling has been claimed off waivers by the Florida Panthers.

With so much depth on defense, Forsling was unlikely to earn a spot with Carolina anytime soon. While it is somewhat surprising to see him claimed, it shouldn’t have any impact on the Hurricanes.
All other players who were waived by the Hurricanes yesterday cleared.
