Evgeni Dadonov to Florida, Galiev to KHL (SKA)

Follow me for more real time updates.

The Florida Panthers had to deal with their situation up-front, and they have done in one of the best ways possible - signing a KHL UFA Evgeni Dadonov. Their own draftee from 2007.

Dadonov is a 28 years old winger who can play on the both sides. A small guy who can skate very well and when required finish his chances. Although not very good in his own end he can provide enough offence to make it less bad. Can play a physical game.

Panthers and Russian winger have agreed to terms on a three-year 12 million deal as reported by Bob McKenzie.

I reached out to Dadonov's camp early in the morning of July 1st to confirm the signing and was told that the player is very excited to have another chance to return to the NHL.

Vegas Golden Knights were rumoured to be his other potential destination, but as it appears NHL's expansion franchise bailed on him. Columbus was in the mix as well.

Expect an announcement as soon as Noon of July 1st Free agency.

UPDATED - Not being able to crack Washington Capitals roster Stanislav Galiev now exploring his options in Russia.

Morning of July 1st multiple KHL sources suggested that Stanislav Galiev is done in the North America and is fielding offers on the other side of the pond. ''I made the decision to move back home to make Team Russia so I can play at the Olympics,'' he said. ''It was clear that after five years in the Washington organisation I had to move on, it's hard to compete when you don't get a chance to play, or if you do it's either fourth-line or AHL''. he told ''Championat''.

Galiev is yet to decide the direction he is taking but more than likely he would look at the possible contender.
