It appears the NHL will be using Edmonton and Toronto as their hub cities. I don’t blame the league for not using the United States. The weird thing about wanting to be a host city is there still aren’t going to be fans at the game. There aren’t going to be events surrounding the games for fans to attend like a normal big NHL event would have. You are just going to have a bunch of outsiders come into your area to play hockey and hangout in their hotel. Edmonton is a self-conscious area and the media from the city have been all about being a hub city, as if it proves anything. So much so Alberta Premier Jason Kenney released a promo video seemingly lacking anything actually in Edmonton to give a false impression about its hosting capabilities.
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney tweeted a new video in his ongoing efforts to sell the NHL on Edmonton as a hub city once the league resumes play.

But one detail about the video rankled locals: Not one attraction shown in the video is actually in Edmonton. https://t.co/TlkwV9g561
But aside from the skyline shot under the video’s title, Edmonton, is notably absent.“That would be like saying, ‘Let’s have it in Boston! The Statue of Liberty, Broadway, the MOMA, the Met! It’s all in (4 hours from) Boston!… one user tweeted in response.
In which Jason Kenney's stupid pitch video of scenic "Edmonton" is proved to have been stolen from a tourism company's promo video https://t.co/vgrLu1TR0b

Yeah, they plagiarized the video. Here is the original from the Pursuit collection about the Glacier View Lodge
It’s the obvious choice to bring the @NHL to #Edmonton.

We look forward to welcoming the league and players here to Alberta to take in the beautiful province we have to offer. pic.twitter.com/kp0iN86vCP
Way to go, Edmonton? Or is it Banff? Or Jasper? Oof.

All the Penguins are now in Pittsburgh training for the potential reopening of the NHL season.
Coach Sullivan: "To my knowledge, everybody is in Pittsburgh right now. The last player to arrive was Patric Hornqvist. He's going through the quarantine/testing protocol that the league has mandated. Right now, we have our full complement of players in Pittsburgh."

Patric Hornqvist will have to hang out by himself for a little bit. He is going to have to quarantine after coming over from Sweden. Sweden famously went with the herd immunity approach and did not shut down the country. They left schools, restaurants, and bars open during the COVID-19 outbreak. It didn’t go as well as they wanted.
