Devils acquire Johansson from Capitals (Devils)

The New Jersey Devils put some of their cap space, and draft capital, to good use this evening by acquiring Marcus Johansson from a cap-strapped Washington team.

In exchange for Johansson's services, the Devils parted with Florida's 2018 2nd round pick and Toronto's 2018 3rd.

Johansson, 26, has put up at least 40 points in five consecutive seasons (lockout year aside) with his career high of 58 points coming this past year.

He can skate, he can score, he's an excellent playmaker and he is very versatile having spent time on both wings and down the middle throughout his career.

I'll go much more in-depth in the coming days but anytime you can acquire a young, established top-6 forward for a couple lottery tickets, you pull the trigger without thinking twice.
