Cory Schneider snubbed from NHL Network's list of top-10 goaltenders (Devils)

The NHL Network recently released a list ranking the top-10 goaltenders in the league and Cory Schneider was not among those that made the cut.

Here's how the list shaped up:

Schneider is coming off a down season so it's not a surprise he didn't crack the list. However, that doesn't mean the NHL Network was right to exclude him.

Prior to last year, Schneider had posted a .921 save percentage or better in all six seasons he's been an NHL regular and, even accounting for last year, he owns a .922 career save percentage.

He consistently ranks at or near the top of the leaderboard when it comes to stopping pucks, which is kind of a goalie's job, so punishing him for one off year while playing behind arguably the worst defense in the league doesn't seem fair.

I would assume this list weighs recent play more heavily but if the window extends to even two years, Schneider still ranks ahead of Henrik Lundqvist, Pekka Rinne, and Martin Jones in save percentage despite playing behind a defense that doesn't feature guys like Ryan McDonagh, Brady Skjei, P.K. Subban, Roman Josi, Mattias Ekholm, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, etc.

I know it's just one list, and there's a difference between opinions and facts, but I feel very comfortable saying Schneider should have been ranked inside the top-10.
