If ever there was a night for the Detroit Red Wings to get right, history is certainly on their side tonight. They play the Montreal Canadiens on the back end of the home-and-home set on what is the 22nd anniversary of the night the Wings finished off Patrick Roy’s career with the Habs, posting a resounding 11-1 victory on Dec. 2, 1995 that caused Roy - left in to absorb nine of the 11 goals against - to inform Canadiens president Ronald Corey that he’d played his last game for the team. Roy was dealt to the Colorado Avalanche a few days later.
