Zach Parise has confirmed that he has a deal in place with the New York Islanders, according to The Athletic’s Michael Russo.

Parise is 37 years old and was bought out by the Minnesota Wild earlier this offseason, after spending nine years with the team. This past season, Parise scored seven goals and 18 points in 45 games with the Wild, a pace of 13 goals and 33 points per 82 games.

The deal between Parise and the Islanders comes as no surprise, as it had been reported by various journalists and outlets earlier in the summer. That said, Islanders’ general manager Lou Lamoriello still has to register Parise’s contract and we have yet to learn what the deal will be worth.
