The Los Angeles Kings announced today that they’ve signed defenseman Christian Wolanin to a one-year contract extension, worth $750,000.

The Kings acquired Wolanin from the Ottawa Senators this season, in exchange for forward Mike Amadio. The 26-year-old played three games for the Kings after being acquired and 18 total games this season. Wolanin has played a total of 61 career NHL games over the last four seasons and earned a Bronze Medal with the United States at the World Hockey Championship this year.

It’s unlikely that we see Wolanin get into much game action with the Kings next season, but he could always act as a spare.
