Tuesday Random Playoff Notes (nashville)

Tuesday Random Playoff Notes

- The Predators are sponsoring a youth hockey open house tomorrow night at Bridgestone Arena. Things get going at 6pm with representatives from four local youth hockey associations. Free parking is available in the Grand Avenue Garage on 6th.

- What a night of playoff hockey! Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Penguins, surviving a furious comeback from a four goal deficit to scare the bejeebus out of Penguin fans, but ultimately falling short 4-3, dropping the series 4-2.

- Turn the pucker factor up to 11 as the LA Kings have tied a series they once trailed 0-3. The San Jose Sharks are on the brink of an epic collapse.

- Todd McLellan is obviously feeling the heat, stating flatly “We got cheated… at his post-game presser. He was referring to a tie-breaking goal the Kings scored in the third.

- The home ice series is going to an inevitable game 7 as Minnesota jumped out to a 2 goal lead last night… promptly lost it in the second period, then exploded for three third period goals. Colorado has got to learn how to play a playoff road game…

- The focus of the NHL is on Philadelphia tonight as the Rangers and Flyers get together for a Game 6. Puck drop at 6:30pm on NBCSN.

- Start times for Wednesday’s game sevens are announced… should Philly beat NY tonight, game seven will have a 6pm central puck drop at Madison Square Garden. Colorado / Minnesota starts at 8:30 central… San Jose / LA starts at 9pm.

- Second potential Barry Trotz location… Carolina has a new GM in Ron Francis and current head coach (and former Admiral HC) Kirk Muller may be first out the door, although nothing has been decided on that yet.

- Full props to Wild fans on their creative and downright funny heckling of Semyon Varlamov.

- Since when is it acceptable to spear a guy in the privates??? Latest example? Paul Stastny. Jeeze… to hell with the player’s code… whatever happened to the guy code?

- Y’know… the NHL has seen its’ share of bad owners… but wow. The owner of the LA Clippers is something else.

- This week’s scheduled Petey’s 5K Face-Off, the annual run/walk to support the Peterson for Parkinsons Foundation has been postponed. Stay tuned for updates. More information is available at the PFP Website.
