The Blues just shocked the UFA world by signing top free agent center, Paul Stastny, to a four year, $28 million dollar deal. Broken down, he'll make $6.5, $7, $7, $7.5 per year.
The Blues have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs for the last three seasons due to their inability to put the puck in the net. Offense was certainly a needed addition. Now the Blues have added Paul Stastny, who posted 60 points in 71 games last season (25 goals, 35 assists). Not to mention his 10 playoff points (five goals, five assists) in just nine games.
Stasnty is a number one center and the Blues have really upgraded their roster offensively with the addition of both Stastny and Lehtera. I'll be breaking this down a lot more later this afternoon, but so far, the Blues are in it and they showing they want to win by improving their team today.
