"It's Not Good Enough." (nashville)

After the Predators dropped a 4-1 decision in Chicago last night, the captain said it all in a post-game quote… “You can sit here and say we’re getting chances, but who cares, we’re not winning games, we’re not scoring goals. That’s the bottom line; it’s not good enough.…

Amen captain… amen… nothing else needs to be said.

Random Notes

- All-Star Voting Update - Shea Weber is up to #26 (+1) in overall vote getters, but remains 6th in the Central race for captain of the team. Other Preds… Roman Josi has remains at 50, Pekka Rinne remains at 57, Filip Forsberg down to 84 (-1) and James Neal remains at 98. You can vote up to 10 times a day at the NHL’s All-Star Voting Site

- The Nashville PK has stunk on ice for the past 10 games… allowing 12 goals in that span… not surprisingly, the Preds are 3-5-2 in the last 10.

- Another concern (among many) for Nashville is Pekka Rinne’s single win in this last eight starts. The spectacular saves he has made is hiding some fairly pedestrian numbers. To be fair… Rinne hasn’t gotten a whole lot of help from the team’s defensive play.

- Roman Josi’s assist last night extended his point streak to five games.

- Wondering where all the screaming is about losing Preds highly touted prospect Jimmy Vesey after the Tennessean’s Adam Vingan quoted the prospect saying not to “read too much… into his dad being hired by Toronto. He also stated that he has a “great relationship… with the Predators.

- Sorry to hear of Pascal Dupuis retirement yesterday for purely selfish reasons… he has made the right call for him and his family.

- Bad news for Columbus last night as goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky left last night’s OT loss to the Kings in the third period. No update on the injury as of yet.

- Four NHL games tonight (all start times CT) – 6:30pm – BOS @ MTL, 8:30pm – SJS @ EDM. 9pm – PIT @ COL, NYR @ VAN.
