Yesterday was a free agency “primer…. Today, it’s time for the frenzy. I will be updating the blog as Yzerman makes his moves. If I’m honest, I’m hoping for a center and a righ shot winger. If a left side defenseman comes in, I won’t be complaining. Last year, Yzerman’s moves were made quickly and decisively. This is where the 2021/2022 roster will be “finalized…. There may be some PTOs at training camp, maybe a young player will come in ready to take a spot (Veleno, Berggren).
I expect this team to be a little more competitive, again. With a full league schedule (and not division only) there could be some steps backward, but overall the team continues to inch toward being more complete. Tanguay was brought in to help with scoring. Leddy is here to help with the power play. Last year’s focus was defensive, and it paid off. This year, Yzerman wants to see more goals. Let’s see what he comes up with.
