While the owners and the players of the MLB are arguing about salary, the NHL and the NHLPA are trying to sort out issues such as hub cities, testing and safety issues. Since the league has now set a start date of July 10th for the start of the training camp, both parties must be making some progress towards an agreement. The Habs have announced that starting tomorrow, 4 players will be training in Brossard: Jonathan Drouin, Paul Byron, Charles Hudon and Michael McNiven. As we know, the others have decided to remain where they are since coming back to Montreal would mean having to go through a 14 day quarantine because of the Canadian's government rules. Right now, the Habs are hoping that by the start of training camp, the government will have accept to waive that rule if the players are tested daily. Should this not happen, the Habs might just have to have their training camp in the United States and it would make it almost impossible for a Canadian city to be a hub city.
Apparently, Vegas will be the first hub city and Toronto would be the preferred choice for the second one. For that to work however, the government would have to let go of the 14 day quarantine rule. Hopefully, whatever happens though, the second hub city will be in the eastern time zone, otherwise we'll all look like zombies by the time the Stanley Cup is awarded.

For me, it was Nikita Scherbak. I really thought the kid had some skills and a knack from scoring...unfortunately, he just couldn't or wouldn't put in the work. He's the one who I had the biggest hopes for... For some reason, I didn't think that Louis Leblanc would amount to much and it became clear soon enough that Tinordi wouldn't either. As for McCarron, well, he was a 25th overall pick and he didn't have such impressive numbers even in the juniors so I wasn't expecting much. What about you? Which one of the 4 was the biggest disappointment to you?
