Marc-Andre Fleury played the Pittsburgh Penguins for the final time in his NHL career which also means it was the final time he shared NHL ice with friends Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang.
In a very fitting send off both Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby were able to find the back of the net on the long time friend.

This closes a significant part of this era of Penguins hockey. Through all the ups and downs Marc-Andre Fleury was a huge part of the Penguins for those who play and work for the franchise and for the fans. His personality was/is one of the best in the sport. Even though Fleury left the team eight(!) years ago it still in a lot of ways didn’t feel like he ever left. Any time the Penguins would face a Fleury team there would always be the pranks and the smiles. With yesterday’s game there’s some finality to it and if that doesn’t make you feel old I don’t know what will. We are starting to lose the bedrocks of this era with Malkin’s contract ending after next year and both Crosby and Letang running out of time as well.
