The Nashville Predators are in Newark for the last game before NHL All-Star Weekend for a tilt with the surprising New Jersey Devils. The Devils come into tonight’s game in second place in the suddenly competitive Metro division. The Devils got off to an amazing start to the season, but since the calendar turned to 2018, they have struggled a bit, going 2-5-2 so far and currently on a three game losing streak, but they are showing signs of recovery in their ast few games.
Nashville would like to extend their point streak to eight games and yesterday’s waiving of Cody McLeod has Pred Nation buzzing about a potential return to the lineup of one Filip Forsberg. He was sporting a “no contact… jersey in yesterday’s practice.
For the Devils on the injury front, Taylor Hall has missed the last two games and is listed as questionable for tonight’s tilt. Cory Schnieder may also miss tonight’s game.
In net for New Jersey… ummm… good question. They may go with Ken Appleby, who finished the game on Tuesday when Schnieder went down. For Nashville, I expect Pekka Rinne to be between the pipes.
Game time is 6pm.
