We very rarely take time to stop and appreciated the positive things in life in this day and age. Strangely though, we’re never too busy to criticize or verbally attack things or people and I’m no exception. Anyone who reads me regularly knows my thoughts about TVA Sports so, for a change, I thought it would be interesting to give a shoutout to the best journalists who cover the Habs or NHL hockey whether in French or in English and are essential follows on Twitter. If you’re on the Twittosphere, make sure to give them a follow. So here goes in no particular order:
Brian Wilde – Global Montreal - @BWildeMTL Brian Wilde is pretty active on Twitter and often tweets his thoughts and analysis during the game. After every game, he also publishes a column called The Call of the Wilde filled to the brim with relevant thoughts and analysis. He often notices things that most people will miss and he has a way to always find something positive to say which is a hot commodity nowadays. François Gagnon – RDS - @GagnonFrancois François Gagnon also live tweets like Brian Wilde but he does it mostly in French, although he will at times venture on the English side. I don’t always agree with his comments, but he does have a way to make me think and challenge my own opinions and for that alone, he really is worth a follow.
Patrik Bexell – Habs eyes on the prize - @Zeb_Habs Patrik Bexell is based in Sweden and as such, he often has firsthand information on what’s going on on the other side of the pond. For instance, he tweeted about Norlinder’s return to Sweden hours before the Canadiens even announced it. During the pandemic, he was giving information about Habs players plying their trade in Europe and I thought he was a great source of information. Frank Seravalli – Daily Faceoff - @frank_seravalli The Daily Faceoff President of Hockey Content has got a knack to break out the news in the last 6 months of so. He’s popped up on my timeline with brand new info quite often lately and that makes him a must follow. Also, if you are a fantasy hockey fan, Daily Faceoff is a site to keep an eye on for the teams’ line-up and injury news.
Marc-André Perreault – TVA Sports - @MA_PerreaultTVA The one exception to my TVA Sports aversion. Perreault brings a fresh take and is always interesting to read, his coverage is often different than that of his older colleagues and God knows it’s always fun to get a fresh new outlook on things.
