The Canadiens and Blue Jackets have faced off 34 times since the Columbus outfit joined the league and it’s the Ohio team that has come out on top more often than not, the Habs have won 15 times while the Jackets have 14 regulation wins and 4 OT ones (1 game ended in a tie). The Habs are currently 31st in the league, two points ahead of the Coyotes who have the best odds of winning the draft lottery by virtue of their last place as things stand. For once, Canadiens’ fans might like to hear the Columbus goal celebration cannon go off…
Tonight’s game will be a homecoming of sorts for Josh Anderson and David Savard who both spent years playing for the Jackets. Meanwhile, Samuel Montembeault went through the starter’s routine at the morning skate which seems to indicate that he’ll once again be between the pipes, even though Carey Price did make the trip with the team. Speaking of Price, yesterday, the Canadiens put Jonathan Drouin on LTIR effectively clearing room on the cap to be able to activate Price.
Un habitué de la place.

After tonight’s game, the Canadiens will head back home and face-off against the Islanders on Friday night and the Capitals on Saturday. If I had to put a bet on Carey Price’s return, I’d put it on Saturday night against Washington, but time will tell.
