Fans will be happy to know that Karl Alzner has been put on waivers by the Canadiens. With Shea Weber’s return tomorrow something had to give and the often scratched Alzner became the casualty.
It’s great to see that Marc Bergevin can make a mea culpa and admit that his summer 2017 signings has been a mistake. So far, Alzner has played 90 games with the Habs notching 13 points with a cumulative -5 rating.
Alzner has told the Athletic’s Arpon Basu that he would accept his demotion to Laval should it come to that...

The waiting games begins for Alzner and we’ll know by 12:00 tomorrow if a team was in enough of a jam to claim him...somehow that seems unlikely...

Alzner is in the second year of a 5 year/$4.625M per deal which he signed as an Unrestricted Free Agent with the #Habs on July 1, 2017
