Tuesday night, the Minnesota Wild will be in town with former Hab Nicolas Deslauriers in the line-up. Deslauriers was acquired from Anaheim at the trade deadline and since then, he’s lived in a hotel while his family has been in Montreal, chances are this is one homecoming he’s really been looking forward to.

At today’s practice, the following lines and pairings were used: Caufield-Suzuki-Anderson R. Pitlick-Evans-Armia Hoffman-Dvorak-Gallagher Byron-Poehling-T. Pitlick Pezzetta-Dauphin-Perreault

Romanov-Savard Edmundson-Clague Schueneman-Wideman Lagesson- Harris

Understandably, Pezzetta was skating on the extras line since he’s set to have a hearing after his hit to the head of T.J. Oshie in Saturday’s game. As for Jordan Harris, he remains on the fourth pairing alongside Lagesson, perhaps the organization knows that Harris is part of its future but still needs to watch Schueneman and Wideman to decide what to do with both of them since their contract is up at the end of the season. Schueneman will be a restricted free agent while 32-year-old Wideman will be free as a bird. It’s also worth mentioning that Jeff Petry was not at practice since he was receiving treatments.

After practice, Carey Price, spoke to the media and had a few interesting things to say. Essentially, he felt well after the game, but there’s no set plan for the number of games he’ll play until the end of the season, he will take things as they go. After he played on Friday, he did receive texts from a few players that were happy to see him back in action, Tomas Plekanec and Sidney Crosby amongst them. While he has always wanted to play in the World Championship, he doesn’t think the timing is right this year and is likely to decline the invitation, unlike Nick Suzuki who said he would consider it if Team Canada reached out to invite him. Finally, the netminder intends to play through his contract, as long as he can perform at the right level, he wouldn’t want to be a burden, he wants to leave the game the right way.

En effet, Nicolas Deslauriers a été obtenu par le Minnesota à  la date limite des transactions et depuis, celui-ci a logé dans un hôtel pendant que sa famille revenait à  Montréal, il ne fait aucun doute que celui-ci aura hâte de revenir à  la maison.

Logiquement, Pezzetta se retrouve sur la ligne des extras lui qui aura une audience avec le département de la sécurité des joueurs suite à  son coup à  la tête de TJ Oshie samedi soir. Quant à  Jordan Harris, il demeure sur le 4e duo avec Lagesson, probablement que l’organisation sait fort bien qu’Harris fait partie de son futur mais à  encore besoin de temps afin de décider ce qu’elle fera avec Schueneman et Wideman comme leur contrat arrive à  échéance à  la fin de la saison. Schueneman sera un joueur autonome avec restriction tandis que Wideman sera libre comme l’air à  32 ans. à‡a vaut aussi la peine de mentionner que Jeff Petry brillait par son absence à  l’entraînement puisqu’il profitait d’une journée de traitement.

Après la pratique, Carey Price s’est adressé aux médias et ses propos étaient quand même intéressant. Essentiellement, il se sentait bien après le match de vendredi, mais il n’y a pas encore de plan quant au nombre de matchs qu’il disputera d’ici la fin de la saison, il entend prendre les choses au jour le jour. Après son retour au jeu, il a reçu quelques textos de joueurs qui étaient contents de le revoir en action. Tomas Plekanec et Sidney Crosby étaient du nombre. Bien qu’il ait toujours voulu participer au championnat du monde, il ne croit pas que le timing est bon cette année et il refuserait probablement l’invitation s’il la recevait, contrairement à  Nick Suzuki qui a dit qu’il considérerait la question si l’équipe canadienne venait frapper à  sa porte. Enfin, le gardien entend jouer toutes les années qui restent à  son contrat, en autant qu’il puisse performer au bon niveau, il ne voudrait pas devenir un fardeau.
