It will be interesting to see how the defense shakes out. I personally prefer Bourdon. Because in that #6 spot I want a player with a physical edge.

The fact that he also kicked in 4 goals in only 45 games suggest that he might have a bit of a shot from the point to go with his physical edge.. If they are both healthy.. for the 6th spot.. Id also take MAB over Gusty... although Gusty isnt making this an easy decision!

So I was extremely fortunate to have been able to meet (by chance) Mr. Bill Clement, late yesterday afternoon. First I would just like to say what a great guy he is.

I saw him and mentioned that I was a huge fan.. and he promptly stuck out his hand and asked my name. Went on to talk Flyers for about 5-7 minutes...

He said, "you must have been pretty bummed about them going out to Jersey".. I said the better team won.. he agreed.

He then on his own said " Regardless of what LA does, I still make those trades.." I agreed and mentioned that Im sure the media will have a field day.. he chuckled and nodded.

He asked me where I was from and honestly seemed genuinely interested in talking to me.

We talked about how good the young guys are, and how this team has a great future... and he said " So long as Bryz comes back with his head screwed on right."

I said I thought he got a bad rap from the local media guys and a bunch of the fans, and he would no matter what. Bill said it'll change when he wins it...

He patted me on the back shook my hand and told me it was nice meeting me..

Such a cool experience!

I would also take MAB. Not so much for his physical presence, but at the end after his first concussion, he came back with a really nice one-timer shot set up by Lilja. Wouldn't mind seeing more of that. Oh and he brings a physical presence.

Not that I expected him to be a jerk or full of himself, but I definitely didnt expect him to be so genuinely outgoing and friendly. Just a real personable guy.

Clement is class all the way. Ive met him on several occasions. Dating all the way back to 1976 when he visited Ms. Glass' art class in Brigantine NJ. Who later became Mrs. Clement.

Then a few times over the years I have met him and always bring that up. He always remembers the visit for obvious reasons.

That is my brother on the left. Unfortunately I don't have one with me in it.

I had hoped he'd be exactly as he seems in interviews and such. He's someone that can probably turn your life around with a 45 minute conversation.

I've only met 2 celebrities in person. 1 was Howard Eskin at the first time Nashville ever came to philly. If I remember we killed them 8-0. Memorable game, cause it was my 3rd. My first one was Alexander Daigle's first game as a Flyer against Matt Barnaby and the Sabers. Barnaby shot a puck at me and my Dad during practice. We were agaisnt the glass. My second was way later that season and was Daigles first goal. Cant remember what game that was... Maybe it was the Nasvhille game. Its getting a little fuzzy now... Any who, Eskin was nice and talked to my Dad for about 20 minutes. I was a teen, and had no idea who he was...

The Second person I met was John Daily. He came to my country club for a celebrity invitational. Drove the green on a par 4. Best shot I ever saw. Pulled me out of the crowd and told me to putt for him. He said"hell, its only for money right?" I was like 10. I missed the first putt, about 20 feet, but made the second. He tied the hole. Got a nice pic and autograph and memeory out of it...

I am seriously still in awe about how genuine the guy was. He instigated a conversation with me.. All I said was "Hey Bill, I'm a huge Flyers fan".

Such a cool experience!

Reminds me a ton of when I met Bernie Parent when I was about 6. He let me put on his ring... Ill never forget that..

Speaking of Bernie.. For my b-day my fiance got me an awesome signed pic of Bernie from the winter classic! Its now hanging in the mancave!

Great experience. Having met several former Flyers through my job, as well as coaches and others, I generally find most to be very nice people that genuinely understand the feeling a fan gets from interacting with them.

Considering the progress made by the young defensemen, seems kind of counter productive to fire Joe Paterson.
