Marvel has two main universes. The one that pretty well everyone knows, and then the weird one where Hulk managed to lift Thor's hammer, that is actually an axe, and has the black spiderman and all the alternate stuff.

These two universes are going to fight to the death.

I am undecided on it as I enjoy things from both places.

Marvel's continuity has been butchered to the point where it's nearly impossible for a new reader to jump in. I don't even know who most of the XMen are now, and Thor is a chick, and Tony Stark isn't Tony Stark and Cap is Falcon and Wolverine is dead and blahderpblah and it's what happens when writers run out of ideas. Here's how it will go:
MU gets reset, continuity gets cleaned up (finally), old butthurt readers leave, new readers join because they can actually understand what's happening, new readers become attached, writers run out of ideas in 5-10 years, start messing with alternate timelines and dimensions/killing off andor rebirthing major characters and wreck continuity again, new reboot in roughly 15-20 years. Gay.

They've OPd Flash as badly as Supes at this point. DC has a bad habit of doing this to characters.

Meh

It makes it a nice reentry point for estranged consumers as well as the entry point for new people.

I try to follow along but there is some stuff that has happened and I just go "thats confusing. what is happening. (frank) it"

They kinda have to do it. I read an interview with a Flash writer who did a panel where Flash has a coffee with pie and fans freaked out because he never drinks coffee because of an sub arc somewhere where stopped drinking coffee and he responded with "Well when he has apple pie he drinks a coffee with it"

i'm fine with it a bit, but its kinda how DC operates. A lot of their villains are on the psychology side because the heroes are so strong.

DC Hero "I can do that amazing feat" and the conflict comes from more from the morals and ethics and decisions
Marvel Hero "There's no way I can do that" and then you're blown away when Spiderman somehow lifts up an entire bridge or something

Obvs thats not 100% of the time but its kinda the way it goes

Oh yeah, Spiderman. Made a deal with the devil....to get a divorce.

and Jubilee is a vampire now.

I think the reboot is a good idea, as long as they hire all new writers and attach stupidity clauses to their contracts.

EDIT: Did you know that Mystique has tentacles now, or did last time I looked? What they've done to the XMen in the last 5 years is unforgivable.

I only like Batman and Lobo. Rest of DC just doesn't do it for me.

oh really

you don't think it's a given that a spinoff that hasn't aired yet will be better than arguably the best show of all time
