it doesn't feel like this stuff works for me. if guys have low shooting and passing skills i can't do much with them. they miss one timers 24/7 and never score on shots even in good scoring areas, so im stuck doing cheese dekes with them to finish plays and i don't like playing like that. the worst are players that lose the puck if anyone so much as nudges them and they lose every 50/50 puck battle making defensive play annoying too. that's half my team lol.

try it again but good next time.

like play and whatnot, but more good than before.

honestly think it's down to settings. i have it on full sim and poop players bobble the puck, miss one timers, and screw up passes at an alarming rate. matthews and laine are both on pace for like 50-70 goals though lol.

every year they make the player switching worse and worse. you want to switch to the dman closest to the puck carrier? lol no, you are the back checking center now, enjoy pushing the wrong direction for a split second because you weren't expecting it.

in nhl 09 it'd switch to the most logical player like 90% of the time. it's closer to 50/50 now

They're like a social media company

"What do you want?"
"Chronological timeline!"
"poop even more out of order than before with more ads? You got it!"

except its "let me edit lines in the off season" and "make player switching and game difficulty levels not ass" but you get a new physics engine that don't work, busted player switching and pass direction command, and a new useless mode that loses its fun after an hour.

"yes game, when I held the stick directly every so slightly to the right side of a right diagonal, I wanted to fire the pass to nobody and not either of the two players open and in the directional of a right diagonal"

man that passing BS really messed with me in nhl 17. it's significantly better in 18 but still not as good as it should be

im just glad i wait until these games are like $13 before buying them each year

Its probably my biggest complaint every year. I have a guy wide open at the side of the net. 45 degree pass to the right... AND I passed it back to the dman somehow

Also, negotiating contracts/coach feedback in Be A Pro is terrible and hasn't changed in years. Yet in Road To The Show its excellent and I've heard the NBA 2K version is really good too.

i only bought 18 because it was on sale for 45 bucks at Costco before Christmas.

they could fix it by assigning a unique passing button for each position but there aren't enough buttons available 'cause being able to change strategies on the fly is super important and stuff

I hate having to learn new sliders all over again.

On MLB The Show16 I've spent like 2 years working on those sliders and they're basically perfect. Ever so slightly hitter friendly but not easy. Enough give on the defensive side to make up for the jank that the controls can be as the ball comes off the bat but still requires a lot of manual slides and dives vs the game doing it for you. Stealing used to be a gimme on most of the difficulties but now only like a legit base stealer can do it at like 80%
