Well I'll respectively disagree.

Head to head, "starter vs Starter" I'd say Anderson is better than Reimer.

If you compare Anderson's Senator numbers and Reimers with toronto, they have virtually identical GAA's, but Anderson's SV% is much better than Reimer's.

Back ups...............

Auld's numbers with Montreal are better than "the Monster's" by a long shot.

And Lehner's performance in AHL last spring speaks for itself, and whomever is deemed third on the leafs goal-tending depth chart is not even in the discussion.

So you're entitled to your opinion, but looking at the numbers, I doubt anyone with any objectivity would honestly agree with you.

Granted, while it's early, I have to say, this is not looking like a good comparison for Ottawa so far.

It appears that they might be getting the not-so-good Anderson this year. With a sv% that ranks as second worst in the league, and a GAA which is only exceeded by his backup, it appears that there might not be any teams in the league, let alone the division or province, with a worse defense and goalie combination.

while his stats are brutal its the team play that has resulted in the his GA, not the goalie. anderson has had 0 help thus far.

Also interesting given that Sens fans talked about their D being fine, as all their young guys are superstar caliber.

Guess that's not working out so well either.

its early in the season, lots of new faces, new system, etc. im not going to label the season now.

i'm not expecting much, but i expected gonchar to be better but he's actually regressed. kuba we knew would be brutal, phillips is ok, but nothing special. Their young guys have actually been their best so far. i missed last nights game, but rundblad played well in the home opener, cowen has looked solid, karlsson hasn't missed a beat, but defensive play still leave something to be desired, and lee has developed into a reliable defensive defenseman.

its going to be a long season no doubt with lots of lows and few highs. but it was expected and im good with it.

these posts were directed more at Doppledouche, who seemed to think that the Sens were not really as bad as suggested, and may actually not be in the division basement, like many were suggesting (or the league basement, as many are really suggesting).

Certainly, it's early, but it appears as though the Sens are as people expected. A roster devoid of very much NHL caliber talent.

i think they are bottom 5. they need their proven nhl talent to play better than they have so far. especially on defense (gonchar, kuba, phillips). the forwards have been alright minus last game.

Of course, you're obsessed with the Sens and it seems me as well.

It's early in the season, and it's not looking good so far. The return of Winchester and Carkner will help, and the 10 game mark will give management the opportunity to decide if the sixth overall pick is here to stay, or more likely shipped to the SEL. Also there should be some more players shipped to the AHL.

Then the roster will be set for the foreseeable future and set lines will play together and roles will be set.

Carkner is being missed of the Defense, too many "puck movers" and not enough "slot clearers" at the present time.

they save a goal, what about the other 6?

the sens record is flatering right now due to 3 3rd period comebacks. carkner can teach gonchar and kuba how to play defense.

This is the big problem ,our defense still lacks a good physical defender for the second pairing ,the return of carks will i agree settle the third pairing a little

that legitimately might be a good game. The Marlies are one of the better AHL teams.

Sens would win that game easily.

In the shootout.

Maybe.

Being "one of the better teams in the AHL" means nothing, right?

As far as how good your prospects are? That's correct. I never said it did.

DO THE SENS STILL MEASURE UP WELL IN THE PROVINCE?

He's not a top 6 forward. No matter how you want to spin things. I wouldn't take Michalek over any single one of those guys.

- prock

Michalek has 5 goals, 3 assists so far. Better than Joffrey Lupul, Mikhail Grabovski, Nikolai Kulemin and Matthew Lombardi.

Still wouldn't take him, right?

Still to early to tell. toronto has had a "cream puff" schedule so far, and has only faced one team with a better record than them, and lost.

They've beaten the 23rd,26th,27th and 28th teams overall at home, and only played their first away game last night, so don't stake out your spot on the Parade Route just yet.

Why ask me? I've watched ALL of their games, and could not tell you anymore than you can find in the "Stats" you depend so much on to bolster your POV.

and the ones used to negotiate contracts. imagine a agent telling a gm he has to watch all the players games because his stats don't reflect his play
