I admitted that it wouldn't happen, posts ago.

I don't know anyone that has a pistol registered.
- Guimania

I didn't ask that.

But i'm tired of googling it.

You tell me then.

When was the last time a registered pistol owner murdered someone?

and how stupid was he to use a registered gun?

and why didn't he steal his neighbors registered gun to do the murdering?

1. I asked you, you're the one talking about murders with weapons.

2. I don't know.

3. Pretty dumb if someone did.

4. What if his neighbor didn't have a gun? And that neighbor should be prosecuted if he does have a pistol, for not properly storing it.

He could of stored that pistol in a titanium save at the bottom of a pool surrounded by sharks with lazer beams on their heads.

if the criminal wanted the pistol bad enough he would find a way to get it.

Yeah he can buy one on the streets. Much easier than breaking into a safe.

But the one in the safe had a gold handle, and he was comfortable using that one.

You stand a better chance of surviving a gunshot from a .22 than you do from a 12" hunting knife. If someone is determined to kill you, they probably will.
- TheTaoOfSemenko

I'd say your chances of surviving a baseball bat beating are also pretty low, if the intention is to kill you.

Why do people use guns to kill?

a) you can use it without putting your self in harms way

b) ease of use

c) the destruction it can cause with least amount of effort

d) Surviablity, Who has a better chance of surviving, the guy who took one bat to the head or one gun shot to the head

If somebody wants to kill you, they're not going to give you one swing to the head

Bats are pretty easy to use

you're not likely going to get hurt by the guy you're pummeling to death with a bat

And the guy you walk up to, is just going to let you walk up to him and not do anything while you pummel him over the head.

Or do you have to ambush him ninja style?

A bat can kill sure but if you miss on that first shot you're basically (frank)ed if the other guy can defend himself. Depending on where you make contact, a guy could keep fighting after being hit with a bat. Knives are the worst. If I had a choice of taking a bat or a knife into a fight, I'd take a knife. And if I had to fight a guy with a bat or a guy with a knife, I'd fight the guy who has a bat.

I don't even know if what I said there was relevant but I just was giving it some thought.

ok- I have a bat. you have nothing.

describe how you would attack me, or at least defend yourself.

When you take into account the range of the bat, I'm not sure I'd go with the knife.

I would wait for you to swing, move my head and then move close to you. If you looked wimpy I would move close to you before you swung.

The thing about knives is you never want to move close to a guy with a knife. It's suicide. If you had a knife, I would run.

Take into account a guy with a knife can stab at you like a piston and literally pierce you 30+ times in under a minute. You can use limbs to block a bat, even if they get broken. You can't do that with a knife.

I've heard Bas say repeatedly the best defense against a knife is using your legs to run.
