so Burke did next nothing without a first round pick - and the Habs did precisely nothing with a first rounder... but its okay 'cause they got the three mousekettiers (note the Franco spelling) locked up for what another 7 years ... and they signed that proven premier goal-tender Jaroslav Halak to a 2 year deal worth 5Ms... oh sorry mean to say Carey "call me the self annointed saviour" Price ....

oh ja... lookin' good in Mont Royal...
and best of all we get to watch the Tomas Kaberle.... ah sorry mixed up again Andrej Markov saga play out this year... you know overated heading into Free Agency... I can't wait to hear how the Habs spin this one.... "well uh... but of course the situation in Montreal is completely different.... you know".. blah blah blah....

so ... when all's said and done... will the Habs get back to the ECF... oh probably... but the difference being they'll be there as spectators...

ahhh.... so plesant to sit back and watch this year... yup Leafs suck and the Habs are great.... so I guess the Habs will finish what 30 points ahed of the Leafs and win the division? (he-he)

So let me get this straight...

He was working out hard with a trainer as short as two weeks ago...No problems were spoken of...And now all of a sudden a few days before training camp, he has post concussion symptoms...

Yah def. not buying it and nobody in Boston is buying it either which is why all of EEI and the Sports Hub as well as Comcast Sports Net hosts are bashing him like crazy and flat out calling him a liar...

The guys has always been known as a selfish player and his true character has been shown. Blaming others for the too many men on the ice penalty, and now this...

This guy is a prime playmaker with a new weapon this season. He needs to be in camp to get some chemisty with Horton. This is going to mess up everything in terms of getting the lines together etc etc...

Nonis? Nonis was probably the worst GM ever. After the 06/07 season there were 8 Cancuks that never sniffed the NHL again...talk about an eye for talent. .....Gillis signed all of those "Burke" players to great contracts which with the way Burke does buisness would have over payed or walked......Komisarek, Beuchamen, Orr and Armstrong brutal contracts. Look how high the Leafs payroll is and look how awful the team is......(bad contracts). Can you even find a bad one on the Canucks? Theres no way the Canucks are where they are without Gillis. He's done a masterful job of bringing in great pieces, great contracts and filling the once bare prospect cupboards without even getting lottery picks. Also changing the whole culture of this franshise into one were free agents want to play...Gillis>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Burke>>>>>>Nonis. I can't wait to see the Leafs miss out on Larsson. I cant even find a team thats going to do worse than the Leafs. You got lucky last season when the Oilers lost Khabi and Hemsky along with top man games lost to injury in the whole NHL. Once again Leaf fans over valuing there team and propsects. Phaneuf for captain?????really??? I had the pleasure to watch him most of his career and to name a flake as a captain just goes to show how brutal this organization is.

Let's compare them both by looking at there Overall Offense - Defense - Goaltending - Special Teams.

Offense - Edge goes to MTL

Defense - 100% Toronto

Goaltending - Toronto

Special Teams (Powerplay) - more or less even

Special Teams (Penalty Kill) - edge goes to Toronto with there recent additions

Toughness: Toronto (Mitchell,Orr, Brown are going to KICK SOME SERIOUS A$$)

Overall : TORONTO
*** Defense/goaltending/Toughness wins games, not your first and second line forwards...Sorry MTL, you guys are in trouble

That's really not even the worst part. I can't believe anyone would claim the Leafs have a better defense than anyone else. Looking at names on paper is one thing but nothing in the real world would suggest it.

In March of 1996 a sect of Canada hating former KGB agents calling themselves FKGBAWHC planted a bomb at the base of the Gastown Steam Clock in Vancouver. Michael J Fox raced to the scene on his hoverboard and tried to defuse the bomb. The bomb had a red wire, a green wire and a black wire. Just as Fox was about to cut the red wire, Cam Neely ran out of nowhere and made him stop, claiming he had to cut the green wire. The two kept arguing as the timer ticked down. Red wire! Green wire! Red wire! Green wire! With 30 seconds left they decided they were both wrong and would just cut the black wire. But Fox's hand was shaking all over the place and he couldn't get the snips around the wire. With 10 seconds left Gary Bettman rode in on a Segway, jumped off, pulled out a broad sword, held it above his and said BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL I HAVE THE POWER, cut the green wire and diffused the bomb. He jumped back on his segway, said HI HO SILVER AWAY and rode off into the sunset being chased by a mob of people wearing Canucks jerseys screaming about revenue sharing and expansion teams. Michael J Fox looked at Cam Neely and asked why's he running, Cam? Cam replied, because we have to chase him. Fox said, but he didn't do anything wrong. Cam said, he's the hero Vancouver deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A commissioner.

And that's how Gary Bettman saved Vancouver.
