I wouldn't call this epic in the sense of most of our Epic Posts but I felt this Ek ripping, while short, needed exposure.

How do you go from:
"Last night, I have it without doubt, that Ilya Kovalchuk and Dean Lombardi dined. Not a big deal...when a guest arrives at 6:30pm you take them out to dinner."
in one post then a few hours later say
"Last night's dinner was not attended by Dean Lombardi"

You even alluded to the fact that you had photographic proof

This is the exact reason you get criticized by mainstream journalism. The blog is fantastic entertainment but don't get upset when you are discredited for your work when you make claims like the above. You don't have to reveal your sources (no journalist does), just make sure you do your due diligence before writing.

Dude, grow up.

I know SuxBeingU as much as you do. He helped me in a situation which you may or may not know about, proving to me that he was connected. He's been pretty reliable as a source the few times he does speak out. I had no reason to doubt him and simply posted it as a messenger with a little personal background info.

I never claimed it was legit, just 'Interesting'.

I don't write hockey blogs so I can tell people how frikkin cool I am or pat myself on the back publicly because I have no self-esteem. I'm just a 30 year Kings fan who is just as f-ing frustrated as everyone else here about the situation. I was trying to pass something along I thought could be a bit credible. Like you don't try to do half that much 3 times a frikkin day.

Now Matt, unlike a majority of the people here, I've met you in person, spoken to you on a number of occasions and at times have found you very cool to talk with, especially about Kings hockey. You are also, in many ways, an extremely arrogant person who can't see beyond his shadow. You're an a-hole and you even admit it. That doesn't make it 'OK'.

Now being in the music business for many years, I understand the need for the thick skin. I never achieved the professional level like you have in the movie industry, but I can only assume it only gets worse as you go up. From my friends in the Music industry who have achieved much more than you on a professional level, I can verify this is true.

We are not those people Matt. That routine doesn't work here.

Now far be it for me to tell you how to be, but if you think your comment is going to ruin my life, that's funny. If it makes you feel good, cool. What I did, I would do again in a heartbeat. I make my own decisions what's credible and what is not. 1/2 of what you write is horsesh!t. 1/2 of what you write can be pretty damn insightful no matter how much of an arrogant SOB you are. I read it anyway because I'm a diehard Kings fan and I want info, even if it's horsesh!t so I can make my own decisions about it.

That Blake queer can go rot in his own blood-soaked fecal matter for all I care. More than likely, he's Neil from the LGK boards. We've battled forever and we actually get along. If it's not him, then I hope he ends up on your front porch asking to crash on your couch because you complimented him on Hockeybuzz. That's why you write here anyway isn't it? To feel in control of something people want to know more about because you know people? To get accolades and self-esteem?

Maybe you just write here because you love hockey and want to share your connection and knowledge with people. If that's true, you fooled me because you come across as the little whiny rich kid we all kicked the crap out of in school on a weekly basis for being such a snob. If I didn't meet you and speak to you many times on a personal level, I'd give you no credit whatsoever.

Quit the act Matt. You really don't need it. Real respect feels real good. Try earning it for a change.

full retard is actually you saying that I've gone full retard.

I'm looking at the habs and saying that in the mid-1st round they should limit the gamble in their selection (knowing full well there is no 'SURE THING') and go with guys that are a little closer to the NHL than guys who have already committed (or made it clear their intention is to commit) to college hence ensuring they won't be ready to compete for a roster spot for a good 2~3 years (most likely one or 2 years of college and one year in the AHL).

Is that so wrong? is that so retarded? please tell me exactly where this opinion goes into full retard mode?

NOTE: DiiTii, please refrain from bolding the first word and saying "HERE" in response to my question of "exactly where this opinion goes into full retard mode?"

Show me one player drafted in the 18-30 spot this year that in your glorious wisdom will make the NHL this year, or compete for a roster spot this year.

Now tell me why.

Now show me a roster spot on the habs that will benefit from this player had we drafted them.

Now tell me what percentage of players drafted in the 18-30 spot make the NHL ever.

Now tell me why you have a desire to see a prospect rushed to the NHL to play on the third and fourth line and still not develop into anything more then a 3rd or 4th liner.

Now show me a team that is drafting in the 18th to 30th position every year that is introducing a rookie drafted that year that steps in and makes an impact on the team.

Now tell me how many times this team has done this.

Now tell me how many players the habs have drafted in the last 10 years that are still playing in the NHL at some capacity.

Now tell me how many teams have introduced more or less players into the NHL then the habs.

Once you are done with all that, come back and present your case in a less typically thoughtless and observant way then

why can't the habs draft a crosby or toews timmins sucks
need moar french : no i'm not you are boobs i need

Seriously... At the town hall Darryl explained the shift in the NHL mindset to spread out money more evenly to your roster as opposed to giving a ton of money to one position/core of players.

Looking at our salary distrubition compared to the "higher end" teams in the league, we are setup pretty close to them.

Based on the roster we are pretty balanced as our the other teams. Now, just need the roster to perform... lol

It's been a good adjustment in less than 12 months. Good on him imo.

I still haven't come up with the proper response to that. It's one thing for a GM to even think that, but for someone to actually think Darryl was right is another. No wonder Feaster said he has no problems arguing with Darryl.

In all that is epic...

I present

I have never seen a bigger bunch of flip floppers in my life.

Hawks fans:

june 2009: versteeg has a chance to win the calder... he will be a top line player in this league. blah blah blah...

present day: versteeg is average at best... he will have a tough time ever cracking 20 goals again.... he only did as well as he did because of the players he had with him. He was expandable.
Come ON people...He did come 3rd in calder voting.. not bad. He is a very solid versatile player.. will continue to be a top 6 with some penalty killing abilities.

april 2010: Niemi is a number 1 goalie... our goalie of the future. Every time someone would say.. chicago is good.. but there goaltending is questionable. Fans would come out shooting off... Niemi is a very good goalie and has what it takes to win the cup.

present day: Niemi is easily replaceable.. we would have won a cup regardless of who was in net ( I do agree with this... but have always felt niemi is not a true #1 even during the regluar season when everyone was so huge on him)

july 2008: Buff is the baddest mofo to ever step on the ice... he defines power forward. He is a different breed... no one is able to handle his net presence. He is a tank who can play forward and defense. Everyone would call him a linebacker.. fat... mess of a hockey player... but every single hawks fan would have you believe he is a bigger version of cam neely. (Im exaggerating of course) He is the ultimate player.. and it was further brought on during this recent stanley cup run.. a beast of a player.. other teams fans hated him and hawks fans had hard ons for him all the way up to until he was traded.

present day: He is okay... but was nothing special... he never even got over 40 points.. pretty one dimensional... he was just furtunate to be surrounded by such good players. He's a product of a strong hawks system... not a big reason they won the cup.

He was tied with the team lead for goals.. was 3rd for goals during the whole playoffs. He was a BIG loss... literally.

You can say the same thing about almost every player who was traded or not resigned.

I know this is pretty common practice for most fans.. but this is getting extremely ridiculous.. I mean GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!

flame away

on a side note: I do like the turco signing

Pikey though, is an invincible mountain of a man, rumored to potentially have CIPA - a congenital defect that prevents him from feeling pain, extreme temperatures, and perhaps even the need to pee. Another school of thought on his otherworldly prowess for withstanding punishment states he crafted his will to withstand sensations of pain through years of almost unimaginably strenuous training.

Descriptions of the nature of the training are at best vague and apocryphal, but numerous reports indicate it involved repeated kicks to the groin and various soft tissue areas by an enraged deer. It is reported that videos of this training exist, but all efforts to bring these videos to the public light have been dealt with severely by members of a shadowy sect of rouge vigilantes, going by the pseudonym "Ref".

He's so mysterious.

Dear Prock,

What your suggesting to Hab fans is the Leafs have a ton of young players who they drafted who are ready to produce in the NHL. The Leafs made significant off season signing last season with those additions your young guns were ready to produce. And produce they did, 29th overall in the league. That's fine though they get to add another great player with thier early 3rd round pick. That coupled with some more top 6 NCAA signings and some more 3rd line players and the Leafs are ready to contend.

We will ignore how PK Subban looked in the post season. Who cares about what Leblanc does at a conditioning school. It doesn't matter how many wins Carey Price has at his age.........theres a ton of goalies who have done that.

Your right we all wish we were sitting in the Leafs postion.........you phucking retard!
Wake the phuck up!
