you may have been offended. I suspect this because I got an email that said,
"I am offended." Apparently certain words I am accostumed to using on the N.
Brunswick Nature Net are considered course language in this area , [I.e:
ass, damn, &etc.] I would like to both publically apologize and to assure
you that my intention was not one of harm. On my native List Serve,
coloquiallisms such as the above are widely excepted. I remember one message
in which a very respected Sackville **twitcher** charmingly referred to our

It's a hell of a beautiful day! Here in the Slat Belt, the Black vultures
are riding the thermals like Nobody's Business. An attractive male Robin is
back patroling the lawn, so Spring!! Is!! Here!! He is very manly. Thanks to
those of you who offered you're local birding expertise so far. I bought the
Lehigh Valley Bird Book at Barnes and Nobles last night and tried the Alfred
Road Ponds this morning. Nothing to report, but I did a Pa. Birds archive
search at home and found some interesting reports from the sight, mostly
attributed to a Richard Wiltraut- incl. black scoter and Bittern! That Bittern
plus the one at E. Bangor this week; little did I know I was moving to the
Bittern JACK Pot!


Speaking of Black scoter, has anyone heard that htey're supposed to split
the European Common and Velvet Scoters from are Black and White Winged,
respectfully? THat was the talk in the Maritimes whilst I was there. Also,
"a little bird told me" that those of us with Western US. experience could
be able to add the Woodhouse's Scrub Jay, Pacific Wren, Lilian's Meadowlark,
and the South Hills Crossbill to our Life Lists come July. "My Bird in my
Hand is worth 2 in My Bush."

*sigh* So I was playing with the kids outside on Sunday. A bus went by the house so I thought I'd try to yank the wife's pants down infront of the bus. She was onto me, so she defended it well. We ended up on my front porch. Kids had a skipping rope there and I heard another bus coming. So I opened the door and made it look like I was taking my shoes off and when the bus came, I darted out to get the wife's pants...instead, I hit the skipping rope, took a header off the porch, hit the concrete and cracked 2 ribs...couldn't move my left arm until today...I was kinda scared of that actually. It's still super weak, but it's moving.
